Goldie, Black-and-gold howler monkey

Goldie was born under human care in Araxá, Minas Gerais state, and took part in scientific and breeding programs for the species' conservation before becoming a permanent resident of the reserve. Her name refers to the golden coat typical of females of the species — males are black, females are blond, one of the few Brazilian primate species with such a visible difference between the sexes.
